Paul Wylie has more than twenty-five years of mortgage and real estate industry experience. He previously owned and operated a top fifty national mortgage company, an escrow/closing services company, a 1031 exchange accommodation company, and he has successfully bought, renovated, and sold commercial and residential real estate for over 30 years in the United States and Mexico.

Paul Wylie founded Metrocities Mortgage in 1989 and opened its doors in April of 1990. The company grew from six employees and $125 million in annual loan production to fourteen hundred employees and over $10 billion in loan production by 2005. Paul Wylie created a highly acclaimed Affiliated Business Arrangement/ joint venture model to bring a consistent focus to the residential purchase money business. His vision and leadership guided Metrocities Mortgage to become the nation’s largest provider of mortgage joint ventures to the real estate industry. Metrocities also formed strategic business relationships with builders, credit unions, banks, financial advisors, business management companies, and affinity groups.

Metrocities formed several unique niche departments such as reverse mortgage (1995),  Mexico properties (1997), MetroAmerica (Latino and African-American outreach in 1998),  commercial/construction lending (1999), private mortgage banking (2002),  and insurance  (2003).

In 2005 Metrocities was the recipient of the National Inman Award for the  “Most Innovative Mortgage Company.”  Metrocities Mortgage and its family of companies ranked in the top one percent of residential mortgage lenders nationwide for closed loan volume, closing over $10 billion in 2005. As “America’s Best Relationship Lender(SM),” Metrocities Mortgage was renowned for its in-house lending expertise with service level guarantees trademarked as, “Heroic Customer Service(SM).”  In 2005 and 2006 the Customer Sat Ace award was bestowed upon the company for exemplary “Mortgage Borrower Satisfaction.”

Paul Wylie’s entry to the mortgage business was as a top loan originator. His business came from referrals including past clients, business management firms, accountants, attorneys and Realtors®. Clients range from well-known entertainers, business executives and high net-worth individuals to first time homebuyers. He has even arranged financing for the daughter of a former United States president.

Paul Wylie has served on Fannie Mae’s National Mortgage Banking Advisory Council. In 2007, Paul was selected as the only mortgage banker to make the “Top 25 Bankers in the San Fernando Valley,” an award given once every four years. Paul Wylie has been an expert panelist for the UC Berkeley Business School (Haas) as well as for Cal State Northridge. Paul has appeared on numerous radio and television segments for industry commentary. He is the mortgage industry expert selected by Gary Keller for his Agent Mountain program.

Paul Wylie has been a California real estate broker for over 20 years. He is also a California Department of Corporations-approved escrow manager as well as a HUD direct endorsement underwriter.
